3D Modelling - Evaluation so far

In this project, I have been creating 3D models and introducing myself to the basic techniques that are used in the industry. In the first few weeks, I mainly practiced with speed-modelling in order for me to work more efficiently and effectively. This was also done to help introduce myself to the various techniques used in industry (Booleans, Bitmaps and Modifiers like Bend, Bevel, Chamfers and Unwrap UV's).

In the following weeks, these techniques would then be applied to 3D models like a Die and a Papertoy of Darth Vader and were imported into Google Earth Pro via Sketchup so that you could view these objects in a real environment like the Park or a Mountain top.

Overall, I've enjoyed playing around with the various modifiers and techniques that 3DS Max has introduced to me and importing the models into a real environment was an interesting experience. I think the techniques I have learned so far could help me in my main courses.

I did struggle with keeping up with what my lecturer was saying once in a while and I fell behind or missed out details as a result, and I would like to learn about 3D sculpting at some point. In order to improve, I hope that I can begin to learn more 3D-Modelling techniques with time.
